Stock markets rallied strongly, extending the S&P 500’s advance to 2.7% so far this week to 2924.58. The New York composite NYA followed suit with a rally of 1.15% to close at 12707.03.

Crude rose to near $57 a barrel, joining in the exuberance, having its best close in more than two weeks.

Gold had a modest gain of 0.18% to settle at $1539.70, while Silver continued to climb with a gain of 0.77% to close at $18.47.  Bitcoin took a breather and finished flat at $9493.20.

With all the positivity in the markets, the fear gauge “the VIX” got beaten down -7.60% to close at 17.88. The Yield on the 10-year Bond moved higher to close at 1.516%.

The U.S. Dollar rallied strongly again with the broad trade-weighted dollar at an all-time record high of 130.67
